Carver High School

George Washington Carver High School opened in the 1920s as a school for African-Americans in Coconut Grove, Florida. Its students lived under the South's Jim Crow laws, segregated from whites in all aspects of everyday life.

What it lacked in funding and facilities, Carver made up for in devoted teachers, strong friendships and a close-knit community.

Carver's graduates became leaders and achievers. These are some of their stories. We hope you'll share your memories too.
